Abstract: The aim of this paper is to report a study comparing the effect of group learning and conventional teaching on mathematics achievement in rural secondary school in Bangladesh. The purpose of implementing group learning is to facilitate mathematics teaching in secondary schools' classrooms, based on the strategies of 'give and take' ideas to accomplish shared group goals. This paper introduces several similar studies carried out with significant outcomes. The result of group learning and conventional teaching would be discussed on the basis of students' performance in experimental group and control group. This paper also includes the values of group learning in Islam, Finally, the paper will also discuss the implication of group learning for lifelong learning.
