Abstract: A modified replication of the Aston studies organisations in Malaysia is reported here. carried out on a sample of 23 manufacturing ownership and charter) and 5 structural variables total of 4 contextual variables (size, technology, (specialisation, formalisation, standardisation, centralisation and configuration) have been operationalised and using correlation analysis and t-tests, a number of relationships significant at 0.1 level or better, have been observed. emerges as the most influential contextual ariable and strong non-linear relationships with the structural variables are demonstrated. Technology and ownership are also shown to be significant determinants of organisational structure.
