| Abstract: | The UN has designated the 1980's as the water decade. This is good news to the people in developing and under-developed countries. Water supply projects in Malaysia have emphasized more on the urban sector than the rural areas. About half of the rural areas are still without adequate water supply. Sewerage has been polluting the rivers. Only 14% of the urban centres are equipped with sewerage treatment systems. Sewerage disposal in the rural areas is most unsatisfactory. |
