| Abstract: | Vision 2020 which was presented by YAB Perdana Menteri at the inaugural meeting of the Malaysian Business Council on 28th February 1991, reflects the vision of a fully developed and industrialized Malaysia by the year 2020, in all dimensions: economically, politically, spiritually, psychologically and culturally. It is essentially a long-term vision containing broad policy directions encompassing various aspects. ng soci The Second Outline Perspective Plan (OPP2), 1991-2000 is basically a long-term plan which embodies the new policy called the National Development Policy (NDP) to replace the New Economic Policy (NEP). The main objective of NDP is to attain a balanced development in order to establish eventually a more united and just society as envisioned in the Vision 2020. OPP2 provides a framework for achieving certain socio-economic targets within a ten year time frame. |
