Abstract: | The study is an attempt to document the issues and vulnerabilities that are addressed by the fisher women in the context of depletion of resources, technological change and globalization. It also looks into the impact of ecological and economic mismanagement in the wider market oriented economy coupled with various forms of denial of rights, gender bias and exploitations. This study is focused on the fisher women of Thalasserry, a coastal belt of Kerala, in South India. |
