Abstract: Experimental binderless particleboards were made from five different ratios of oil palm trunk and Acacia mangium particles. The experimental panels were made by hot pressing the particles to a target density of 1.0 g/cm³. The mass attenuation coefficient of oil palm trunk and Acacia mangium were measured using X-ray fluorescent (XRF) photons between 16.59 to 25.26 keV energy range. The results were compared to the theoretical values for using photon cross-section database (XCOM). The results showed that mass attenuation coefficient of oil palm trunk and Acacia mangium binderless particleboard with ratio (OPT:AM, 70:30) was close to the mass attenuation coefficient of water. The result indicated that the binderless particleboard made from oil palm trunk and Acacia mangium had potential application in radiation dosimetry.
