Abstract: | The design and implementation of LISM overlooks input from users of the system. In particular, the LISM was designed without properly studying the needs and requirements of agencies contributing data and using the proposed system. An analysis of user requirements determines the types of data to be stored and the applicable software to process the data. These factors dictate the required hardware components. The correct form of data makes updating of the system casy and reduces long-term maintenance costs. Other important elements such as data quality and the user interface are also discussed. |
