Abstract: | The Butuan City archaeological sites in northeastern Mindanao, Philippines have yielded since the first discoveries in 1976 artifactual from the 4th to the 15th centuries A.D., from the materials that date series of Southeast Asian type boats to Ming Dynasty, Thai, Vietnamese and Much of the sites in the area, however, Middle Eastern trade ceramics. have been destroyed by indiscriminate pothunters who in the course of their activities have removed diagnostic materials out of context. the identification and interpretation of the relationship of certain materials with others difficult (Peralta 1980). |
