Abstract: | The title selected for this Paper by the organisers of the Seminar draws welcome attention to the existence of historical sites in our country, after a long period of neglect. Because we have no Angkor Wat, no Borobudur, no Niah Caves or no Temple of the Tooth, it has been erroneously assumed that we have no visible evidence of the long and colourful history which has crowded the shores and river mouths of Malaya with traders, adventurers and warriors for at least a thousand years. |
