Abstract: | This paper investigates the age of citations of papers published in five sample volumes of the Journal of Consumer Research. Findings suggest that consumer researchers tend to draw from more recently published literature. This is particularly evident in references made to works in the discipline itself. Alternative explanations for the results are discussed. |
