Abstract: A pilot study was conducted with 32 respondents in a shopping mall to shopping motivation among teenagers and other influential factors that encourage teenagers to visit shopping mall. Self- administered survey questionnaire was distributed to teenagers aged 13 to 19 years old. Friends are the most common companion of teenagers in shopping mall and entertainment areas are suggested to be the most visited places in shopping mall by the respondents. This paper gives an understanding on the preference of teenagers towards their social spaces and outlines a basic knowledge on teenagers' socialization in shopping mall.
