| Abstract: | The recent 'Asian Currency Crisis' affected some countries more than others. The reasons for this are discussed and implications are draw11 for Asian countries. There are disadvantages in relying on short-term markets alone and there is a need to develop long-term funding. The Singaporean experience and the Miyazawa Plan are examined from the viewpoint of a Japanese Investment banker. |
