Abstract: In general, public universities have more status than private ones in Taiwan, and students as well as their parents tend to prefer public universities. People believe that knowledge brings wealth, so students in Taiwan devoted themselves to studying as best as they can; therefore , entering public universities is becoming more and more competitive. But does a public university diploma really have a positive effect on graduating students' salaries?
