Abstract: Plutella Xylostella (L.) (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae) is the most destructive cosmopolitan insect pests for brassicaceous crops. Juvenile hormone (JH) is an acyclic sesquiterpene group hormones secreted by Corpora Allata (CA) that regulates the physiology of an insect. The putative short-chain dehydrogenase/ reductase from Plutella Xylostella (PxSDR) gene sequence was obtained from KONAGAbase by using Aedes aegypti (AaSDR-2) as query sequence. This sequence was analysed using standard bioinformatic tools. Domain and profile analysis have identified several residue that play a role in coenzyme binding (Thrll, Gly12, A1a13, Ser14, Ser15, Gly16, 11e17, Gly18) and adenine coenzyme binding site (Asp67). Arg37 has been identified as being key residue in cP2 superfamily. Meanwhile, several residues were also been identified as being involved in the stabilization of its structure.
