Abstract: In the current development of wheel manufacturing for the automotive industry, the standard wheel is mostly made of steel and light alloy wheel. The light alloy wheel can be perforated to save weight, achieve better brake cooling and recently alloy wheels are becoming increasingly popular to the vehicle users. The main objective of the project is to develop Finite Element model of wide rim alloy and analyze the phenomenon and wheel reaction due to radial load and inflation of tire air pressure. This research will analyze the safety aspect of wide rim alloy caused by radial load occurs during driving a car. In this project, Finite Element Method (FEM) will be used in order to make the analysis, simulation and modeling of wide rim alloy. The method will be used to predict the maximum displacement and stress on the wheel under the specified load. In this case, the CATIA software will be used to create 3D model of wide rim alloy. Finally, MSC NASTRAN and PATRAN software will be used to analyze and make simulation to get the final result.
