Abstract: | Named in honour of His Majesty the King's illustrious father, Prince of Songkla University was founded in 1967 as the first University in the South of Thailand. It was established as part of the Government's aims to decentralize tertiary education, to upgrade the level of regional education and to promote economic and social development in the rural south, serving as a part of the southern development program. |
