Abstract: Laparoscopic surgery is a modern surgical technique in which operations are performed far from their location through small incisions elsewhere in the body. A laparoscopic training tool is made up as a training device which can be used to train student surgeon in handling this type of surgery. The tasks which were employed in the training tool are based on the theory of child's development where a child's toy is used as a model. A toy is a basic way to train children especially infants on how to use both their hands. This training is applied in every stage of the handling of the device to test for movement and dexterity. As an additional feature, scoring system is added to this device to make it more interesting. The score obtained after using this device reflects the skill acquired by the person in using this device. It can be concluded that the required skill of a person in handling a laparoscopy surgery as the main objective in the innovation of this device. As this product was assembled, we were able to prove that this device is truly useful in improving a person's hand movement, dexterity and creative thinking. It is hoped that this device can be used globally in the future as a training tool to assist in improving a medical student's skill especially in handling keyhole surgery.
