Abstract: The recent palm oil crises have stimulated many researchers to utilize the palm oil and palm kernel oil, and turn them to non-food value-added products. The formulated ink was invented as a solvent-based two-component polyurethane system with an average viscosity of ~ 69 cps, making it easily flows and suitable for decoration purpose. It is compatible with any kind of water-based pigments available in the market. It has high water-resistance, fire-resist, thermally stable and cost-effective by doing some test which are TGA test, FTIR test, viscosity test and hardness test. A polyurethane with a ratio of 1:0.4:1 is the most optimum ratio of polyol to MDI to PEG due to its thermal stability, low hardness index, uniform cellular structure and less curing time.
