Abstract: | Service industry is important to a country like Malaysia and other ASEAN countries as this sector has contributed significantly to their economic growth. One of the service industries which have contributed to the economic growth of ASEAN nations is air transportation services. Movement of passengers and goods is made possible with the air transport, and for example, tourism within ASEAN flourished with the support of this service. However, the development of this industry is very much regulated and the competitiveness of the industry is dependent on the laws imposed by world body or the host nations. It has been said that the sudden increases of oil prices, aircraft companies are already feeling the pain. Thus, there is a need to re-examine the rules of aviation laws and other related laws in order to assist those players in such industry. The related laws also have impacted the consumers which likewise need to be protected. |
