Inventory of red fruit pandan (pandanus conoideus lamarck) in Papua, Indonesia

Abstract

Inventory of the red fruit pandan was conducted in details from December 2008 to March 2009. The samples were collected at the Jayapura, Serui and Wamena by using exploration methods. The results indicated that it was 7 of variation fruit colors from the P. conoideus species, namely the red pompei, red venetia, pale geranium lake, scarlet lake, vermilion, Indian red, and orange yellow. It was used by local communities in Papua, Indonesia. The red fruit pandan must be conserved because of its population has decreased.
