Abstract: | Thailand is a middle-income country intending and in the process of upgrading into more skilled-intensive activities and higher technology to secure their competitive edge in the world market. Educational reform and skill training on a lifelong basis are key strategies to enhance competencies and productivity of the workforce with basic, general and specific skills to sustain a quality of work life and the quality of life in the 21" century. This is reflected in the case study of the fashion industry in Thailand. This process needs a strong role of workplace learning as wel l as collaboration among relevant ministries such as education, labor, and industry. |
