The training of archivists in Hongkong

Abstract

The following is the full text of Mr. Diamond's speech on the Training of Archivists in Hongkong. When our esteemed Chairman invited me to prepare a paper on the Training of Archivists in Hongkong I confess that I was somewhat at a loss; because the fact is that, apart from myself, there are no Archivists in Hongkong; no archive institutions apart from my own (which is in its early formative stage) and, of course, no formal training for archivists. If I were to speek at all in that subject, therefore, I could do so only in terms of the present and proposed training of my own staff. With this caveat, and with the hope that I shall not be taking up the time of other delegates unduly, I present the following notes on this subject.
