The following is the full text of Mr. Diamond's speech on the Training of Archivists in Hongkong. When our esteemed Chairman invited me to prepare a paper on the Training of Archivists in Hongkong I confess that I was somewhat at a loss; because the fact is that, apart from myself, there are no Archivists in Hongkong; no archive institutions apart from my own (which is in its early formative stage) and, of course, no formal training for archivists. If I were to speek at all in that subject, therefore, I could do so only in terms of the present and proposed training of my own staff. With this caveat, and with the hope that I shall not be taking up the time of other delegates unduly, I present the following notes on this subject.en_US
