Abstract: Transactional networks are becoming increasingly important to marketing managers in todays global environment. The closer coupling of firms to their environment will drastically change the future development and strategic importance of marketing information systems. A model of computer based network linkages is presented, the premises of the model are discussed, and the costs and benefits of transactional networks are analyzed.
