dc.description.abstractWe report on spatial and temporal conjugacy of meso-scale (~10-200 km) westward traveling surge auroras that were simultaneously acquired with all-sky TV cameras situated at two geomagnetically conjugate points, at Raufarhofn in Iceland and at Syowa Station in Antarctica on 30 September 2000. During this event, dynamic features of WTS for westward traveling, meso-scale vortex and curl structure and small-scale ray structure, latitudinal location of surge front of WTS showed good conjugacy. On the other hand, longitudinal displacement of surge front between Syowa and Raufarhofn was 570 km, and westward traveling speed is about 1.4 km/sec in the southern hemisphere but it is about 0.8 km/sec in the northern hemisphere.en_US
