Metallurgical problems in local engineering industries - some case studies

Abstract

Unexpected engineering failures often occur, resulting in losses in productivity, property and lives. Though the technology to prevent such failures is available today, not many engineers are aware of it. This paper describes briefly the nature of these problems and the methods available to solve them. Some case studies are presented to illustrate the sort of failures experienced locally.
