The role of private sector in accelerating the pace of industrialisation is well recognised in Malaysia. In recent years, the Government has announced a number of measures and policies to stimulate private investment and allow it to make a greater contribution to the develop- ment of the country. A variety of lucrative incentives, such as tax consessions and flexibility in ownership are offered, to attract the investors. This paper describes Kelantan State and its economy and briefly outlines investment opportunities within the national policy framework.en_US
