| dc.description.abstract | The aims of the paper are three-folds. Firstly the paper aims to review the leading theories and policies of development It is relevant to do this because at socio-at the global level. development policies and strategies adopted by any country in the world in usually based on certain model or paradigm. Secondly it tries to discuss the policies and strategies of development adopted by both Malaysia and Sarawak and to look economic conditions of Sarawak in relation to Malaysian economic development over the past three decades. Thirdly, it seeks to evaluate the relevance or appropriateness of the overall Malaysian development strategies in the context of Sarawak - the region which differs from Peninsular Malaysia in terms of economic, social, environmental and demografic factors. | en_US |
