| Abstract: | At first Encik Mohd. Zain briefly outlined the role of the manufacturing sector in the context of the NEP. This was followed by an outline of some of the measures used to promote industrial development. The performance of the manufacturing sector was then evaluated in terms of an overall output, employment and contribution to exports. The first part was concluded with a brief description of progress in Bumiputra participation in the manufacturing sector. |
