dc.description.abstractAmong the various types of public enterprises, those concerned with the promotion of ownership of the share capital in the corporate sector by Malays and other indigenous people constitute one of the most interesting developments in the post-1969 period. This paper attempts to examine the social forces which led to the establishment of these public enterprises, their organizational structure and performance, and finally the strategy through which they are to be transferred to the private sector.en_US
