dc.description.abstractAfter more than a decade of agricultural development experience, we should now be in a better position is to understand and appreciate the factors responsible for more rapid agricultural development in the developing countries. From the literature on agricultural development we can identify the factors that facilitate or inhibit agricultural development ranging from physical inputs and requisites from farm production, various economic incentives affecting agriculture, organizational factors including government agricultural agencies, research institutes and farmers' organizations and extension services, socio-phycho-cultural factors determining farmers' attitudes and value systems, the social structure in the rural areas and the knowledge of new technologies.en_US
