Abstract: The widely accepted notion has been the belief that most third world countries are lagging behind as a result of violent, political wars, ethnic bickering, civil unrest and many others this paper is an attempt to explore the causes, nature and impact of violence in Somalia which have undermined and hampered progress in all spheres of economy. Nonetheless, paper will look at the root causes of war and the impact of United Nations in solving and analyze what fuels and catalyzes its gravity using Somalia as a case study. However, this conflict, peace building and peacemaking in Somalia. It will also look at various ways with which International community has greatly impacted directly and indirectly on most war in the Horn of Africa and suggest comprehensive long lasting solutions to curb the systematic posed is: How does Western influence contribute to the present and past conflict in the horn of Africa, particularly in Somalia? In a common stand to address the issues war in the Horn of Africa with particular reference to Somalia. The question frequently perpetuating and exacerbating conflict in the region, and to set a framework of economic prosperity rather than engaging in war. Painstakingly, the paper seeks to critically development that will help them to better cope with the contemporary challenges to appraise the issue on ground in a holistic manner so that the Horn of Africa nations can play a dynamic and significant role in the global economy. No one can deny the fact that Somalia woes of unstable economy and economy and ill politics are due to lack of good governance. Moreover, for Somalia to be a key player in the region and globally certain dire measures must be put in place to achieve peace and stability. In Africa many states have taken concrete steps to stop the incessant war but that cannot be said of Somalia. Hence the need to explore the Somalia case and to suggest landmark solutions to reshape this war- torn country is imperative.
