The Pan Pearl River Delta Economic Zone is situated in the overlapping zone of the two giant economic entities under the “10+1” framework, and bears a special but natural relationship with the ASEAN countries economically. Were we to study the Pan-PRD cooperation with a wider field of vision, we might be able to observe the following: the internationalization of Pan-PRD as well as the openness of ASEAN have together provided for a solid foundation on which to strengthen their bilateral cooperation under the "10+1" framework. ASEAN is the first international market and resource base, where Pan-PRD approaches the global market. Hence, it is of essence that Pan-PRD enhances its cooperation with ASEAN. Confronting a widespread Chinese market affiliated to a gigantic and complex economy, the ASEAN needs to take an approach that's of step-by-step development and level-by-level advancement. ASEAN's openness already in place has offered full feasibility for developing into a more intimate relationship with a geographically connected Pan-PRD region. As such, regardless of whether we view from the perspective of Pan-PRD or ASEAN, it is a strategically beneficial choice to prioritize in developing this bilateral relationship and constructing a "9+2+10" economic circle under the “10+1” framework.en_US
