dc.description.abstract | Human resource development literature highlights that mentoring program is an important training method that may be used to increase individuals' advancement, especially psychosocial and career. More importantly, a careful observation of such relationships reveals that effect of mentoring program on individuals' psychosocial and career is indirectly affected by same gender in organizations. Although the nature of this relationship is interesting, little is known about the mediating effect of same gender in mentoring research literature. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine the effect of mentoring program and same gender on individuals' psychosocial and career using 153 usable questionnaires gathered from employees who have worked in one public university in Sarawak, Malaysia (PSMUNIVERSITY). Outcomes of stepwise regression analysis showed two important findings: first, relationship between same gender and mentoring program positively and significantly correlated with individuals' psychosocial. Secondly, relationship between same gender and mentoring program positively and significantly correlated with individuals' career. This result confirms that same gender does act as a full mediating variable in the mentoring model of the studied organization. In addition, implications and discussion are elaborated. | en_US |
