Let us begin by interpreting the meaning of physical education. Physical education generally poses a question that has to be considered. Is physical education an education of the physical or through the physical? Education of the physical simply implies the development of physical qualities such as strength, stamina, flexibility. Education through the physical emphasises the biologic unity of mind and body and seeks the education of man through physical activities as one aspect of social effort for human enlightenment. This calls for understanding on the part of the educators of the aim, scope, and objectives of modern physical education. Such a process of education is unitized for the development of those skills, attitudes, and knowledge that make for fine living.en_US
