| Abstract: | Various workers have tried to estimate the production of marine organisms of value to man. Most of these calculations first determine photosynthetic production rates and then assume trophic-dynamic relationships between these producer organism and marine consumer organism. Vishniac 1968 and Nobel 1970 provide some recent estimates of primary oceanic productivity. |
