This paper present an overview of Projek Lebuhraya Utara selatan (PLUS) GIS project from conceptual to the current implementation stage. Emphasis has been placed on the initial requirement study, selection of approriate software and hardware, application specifications and implementation considerations. 2.0 INTRODUCTION The need for a geographical information system in PLUS arises as a result of the need to have an efficient system to handle expressway physical assets information efficiently. Unlike most potential GIS sites where lack of spatial (geographical) data is the major obstacle to successful implementation, PLUS is fortunate to have ready digitised data for the initiation of the GIS project. PLUS' geographical data was captured through aerial photogrammetry and digitised into MOSS GENIO format. This digitised data serves the twin purposes of databases for road design and spatial data for GIS.en_US
