This study emphasized on utilization of oil palm wastes such as oil palm trunk to be converted into a value added product. Particleboard of oil palm trunk, made with a target density of 0.8 g/cm³, at a temperature of 180°C and a pressure of 5 MPa was added with 10% polylactic acid (PLA) as a natural binder. The PLA was added into different thicknesses of particleboards, namely, 5 mm, 10 mm and 15 mm. The physical and mechanical properties of such particleboards were then evaluated. Preliminary results indicated that addition of PLA improved the properties of the particleboards.en_US
