dc.description.abstractThe Sabah Oral Literature Project was established to collect, preserve, and translate the oral literature of the various peoples of northern Sabah. In 1986 we realized that there was a need for such a project when we were able to return to our study of Rungus culture after a hiatus of 23 years. We were astounded to see how rapidly social change had overtaken the Rungus.en_US
