dc.description.abstract | The discussion of the status of the Arab Hadramis is always revolving around their identity and its connection with the land where they are living at present. The status of the Arab Hadramis in Indonesia is very clear. They regard themselves as Indonesians. In this paper, I would like to shed some light on the political events that had led to the emergence of the Arab Hadramis' political consciousness in Indonesia. By examining their organizations, past and contemporary, we will discover the pattern that they have adopted in shaping the social life of the Indonesians. The objective of this paper is to review the Arab Hadramis' political activities in Indonesia which would later benefit them to be recognized as fellow citizens by native Indonesians acknowledged as Indonesians rather than as Arabs. | en_US |
