Abstract: | In practice most of us knew what oral history was quite early in our lives, although we did not know it as oral history. I am referring, of course, to the stories of family history, of kampong life, of tradi- tions, local events, and those spicy stories of certain village celebrities, which were related to us by our elders as an ordinary and accepted part of our daily lives. It seems normal that the subject be 'revisited' now in a more formal way in connection with the development of new school programmes and their implementation across the country. |
