dc.description.abstract | Often when people talk about the application of the Islamic architecture, in the context of the Malay architecture, it will almost instantaneously thought of that the concept of domes, arches, caligraph and the geomatrical carving which originated from West Asia, North Africa, Central Asia, Iran, India and Pakistan, is inevitably in corporated particularly in the designing of mosques. Wherever it may be, it is already an accepted norm that buildings are constructed for shelter from the rain and the sun. Thus, in constructing a building the following factors are often considered viz the "function" of such building e.g. whether it is meant for dwelling in, a place of worship, an office, a theatre, a bank, a supermarket etc., the "economies" and "diseconomies" of such building so as to avoid wastage, the suitability of the existing climatic conditions, ventilation and its aesthetic value. | en_US |
