dc.description.abstractThe presentation will focus on the gains and challenges of the UP Pahinugod Volunteer Service program in relation to the teaching, research and community service responsibilities of HEIs. It will draw upon the experience of partnerships among UP administrators, faculty, staff and students together with government and comunity members in education, health and criminal justice programs toward sustainable development. Lastly, it will argue for research as a necessary condition for the mutually beneficial leaming and progress between HEIs and communities toward the scholarship of engagement.en_US
