Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to discuss the academician's view of business ethics. Surveys were sent to 637 schools of business in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico in order together information on the factors that influence a business person's ethical standards, as well as their sources of ethical standards. The respondents' views regarding ethical behavior standards and integrity revealed some very interesting results. Results varied depending on the size of the school and respondents' background. Overall, business practices are felt to be more ethical than government, but less than religious organizations, family and friends, and colleagues.
