Terahertz spectroscopy recently makes progress in many research fields. The terahertz band is located between light and radio waves, therefore it has both characteristics. It allows an easy observftion, for instance, intermolecular. interaction and vibrations of large molecules (Tonouchi, 2006) (1). The number of aged power equipment such as transformers, power cables and capacitors are increasing in the actual fields. Therefore, it is important to establish a diagnosis method from the maintenance points of view. In this study, we tried to detect degradation of insulating materials using terahertz spectroscopy. The results show that some spectral changes appeared in terahertz region. Thus it indicates that terahertz spectroscopy has a possibility to improve diagnosis method of liquid insulating materials.en_US
