This paper presents the personal life experiences of a disabled woman from a minority community in a rural region in Sarawak. Using "life-story" as the research method, the study offers an opportunity for the voice of a woman, maligned by her family and community, to be heard. The woman's life story highlights the many levels of marginalisation, oppression and social exclusions experienced by her, and challenge us to question and rethink the process of social and community development and the extent of its responding to the needs of people in a minority, powerless position.en_US
