Description: This case study aimed at investigating the use of Learning Management Blog (LMB) platform in enhancing English language learning and language acquisition processes among ESL (English as Second Language) learners to complete the course tasks. Lack of self-directed language learning materials and time constraint for meaningful interaction are identified as major problems that affect both processes. Thus, LMB was designed as a platform to cater for the students' needs of self-directed language learning materials and discussion forums which are embedded in LMB to scaffold the English language learning and language acquisition processes. Qualitative approach was employed which involved fourteen undergraduate ESL students, who enrolled in an Academic Communication course at a local university. Data collection was conducted using survey questionnaire, semi-structured interview protocols, and the blog entries. Based on students' responses in the interview, the findings of the study revealed that academic writing tips, outline tips, videos, vocabulary games, grammar lessons and exercises, and tips on presentation in the LMB as the most helpful language elements that reinforced their information and knowledge in completing their course assignment. Also, the discussion forum conducted in the LMB had enhanced their understanding of the lessons and the tasks they engaged in. As the interaction and content of the discussion in LMB were conducted in English, the students reported that they had opportunities to learn from their peers, practicing the language, and acquiring language inputs as well as the course contents. In addition, time and space constraints are no longer an issue as the students were able to access the LMB easily and its contents to enhance their understanding and improve their course assignments and projects. The implications of the study suggest practical and convenient ways of using the LMB to English language instructors, lecturers and coordinators who are striving to improvise their language teaching pedagogy.,Ph.D.
