The purpose of this study is to identify to what extent variables such as demographic, psychological and situation factors, information needs, information seeking and information use are related to each other that would help in planning and implementing health communication campaigns in the future. Data for the study is collected through a survey using the self-administered questionnaires. This study involved a total of 245 respondents consisting of newly registered organ donor pledges. It selected its respondents based on a purposive sampling method at four transplant resource centres namely the National Transplant Resource Centre at Kuala Lumpur Hospital; Penang Hospital Transplant Resource Centre; Tuanku Bainun Hospital Transplant Resource Centre in Ipoh, Perak and Sultanah Aminah Hospital Transplant Resource Centre in Johor Bahru. These data are fully analyzed by using SPSS version 20.0. Chi square test was conducted and the study had indicated that information needs have significant relationship with information seeking. The information seeking also have a significant relationship with information use. This study also indicated that information needs play an important role in determining what type of information were sought. The study also showed that the situation factor is not an appropriate factor to measure information needs. In terms of the relationship between situation factor with race and age, showed a significant relationship between those aged 18-24 years with situations of friends who have experience of organ failure. In terms of the relationship between situation factor with race and highest level of education, showed a significant relationship between those who graduated with a LCE / SRP / PMR with the situation in which they sympathize to those who are having problem in getting the organ. For the psychological factors, namely motivation showed a significant relationship with the situation in which they sympathize to those who are having problem in getting the organ. Meanwhile, self esteem showed a significant relationship with situations of friends who have experience of organ failure, sympathize to those who have problem of getting the organ and because they want to help those in need of organs. In terms of the strength of the relationship, the value of Cramer 's V shows that most of the hypotheses tested showed moderate and low strength. Thus, the campaign planners need to plan effective communication strategies to prepare and provide information based on their information seeking and needs, and also how it will be used. Coordination between the provision of information with the information needs will help bridge the gap of information or knowledge of the individual targeted.,PhD
