Description: Kajian ini telah dijalankan bertujuan mengukur kesan rawatan Kaunseling Kelompok Pendekatan Pemusatan Insan (KKPPI) dan Kaunseling Kelompok Pendekatan Psikologi Kognitif Ad-Din (KKPKAD) ke atas konsep kendiri, kemurungan dan daya tahan remaja hamil luar nikah. Kajian ini melibatkan 55 orang remaja dari tiga buah pusat perlindungan wanita iaitu Raudhatus Sakinah, KEWAJA dan Taman Seri Puteri Cheras (JKM). Subjek kajian berumur di antara 13 hingga 21 tahun. Soal selidik yang digunakan ialah Multidimensional Self-Concept Scale (MSCS), Beck Depression inventory (BDI) dan Adolescent Resiliency Attitude Scale (ARAS). Nilai kebolehpercayaan alat kajian diukur melalui kaedah Cronbach Alpha koefisien. Setiap kumpulan rawatan menjalani sesi kaunseling kelompok selama tujuh kali iaitu sekali setiap minggu selama tujuh minggu berturut-turut. The objective of this study was to assess the effectiveness of Person-centred group counseling approach and Cognitive Psychology Ad-Din group counseling approach on self concept, depression and resilience of unmarried pregnant teenagers. This study involved 55 unmarried pregnant teenagers at three women's refuge centres which are from KEWAJA, Raudhatus Sakinah and Taman Seri Puteri Cheras (JKM). The subjects aged between 13 to 21 years old. The Multidimensional Self-Concept Scale (MSCS), Beck Depression inventory (BDI) and Adolescent Resiliency Attitude Scale (ARAS) was administered to assess self concept, depression and resilience of unmarried pregnant teenagers. The reliability of the MSCS, BDI and ARAS was measured using the Alpha Cronbach coefficient method. The item-whole and construct validity were used to measure the validity of questionnaire. The control pre and post test design was used for this study. The Quasi-experimental methods were used to collect data. The subject divided into three group. Two treatment groups and one control group; (i) Person-centred counselling group approach (n=18) (ii) Cognitive Psychology Ad-Din counselling group approach (n=19) and (iii) a waiting list control group (n=18). The research data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, ANOVA, MANCOVA and Tuckey Post Hoc with significant level of .01 and .05. All treatment group received group counseling sessions for 7 consecutive week, once in each week. The results of the study can be summarized as: (1) The interventions of Person-centered group counseling and Cognitive Psychology Ad-Din group counseling gave significant effects on all main dependent variables i.e. self-concept (KK), resilience (DT), depression (K) among unmarried pregnant teenagers at all three study locations. Study findings suggest that the interventions of Person-centered group counseling approach and Cognitive Psychology Ad-Din group counseling approach have been effective in improving self-concept, reducing depression and increasing resilience of unmarried pregnant teenagers. (2) Based on ANOVA and MANCOVA analysis, the study results show that there are significant differences between Person-centered group counseling approach (KKPPI) intervention and Cognitive Psychology Ad-Din group counseling approach (KKPPKAD) intervention on self-concept, resilience and depression. However, based on the means of pre-test and post-test, study results show that KKPPKAD has higher mean than KKPPI. This is due to KKPPKAD having two strengths in terms of its spiritual practices and the skills of counselors in suggesting the alternatives for the clients to solve their problems. In conclusion, this study has proven that the interventions of KKPPI and KKPPKAD are appropriate to be used on variety of groups and ages. Implications, limitations and recommendations for the next studies were also discussed in this study.,PhD
