The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of integrating mobile technology in developing information activity and the effect of integrating CAD technology in creating ideas activities during the design process to produce creative product. A mobile web being set up based on Caroll's minimal theory, while mobile and CAD technology integration based on Brown and Campione's technology of learning theory. This study utilized Hannafin and Peck model to build web mobile based on real case approach and a quasi-experimental method to study the effect of mobile technology and CAD technology integration in architectural design process. Final semester students from four (4) polytechnics which are Politeknik Ungku Omar (PUO), Politeknik Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (POLISAS), Politeknik Port Dickson (PPD) and Politeknik Merlimau (PMM) were chosen as research samples. Products from the analysis activity, synthesis activity and simulation activity during the design process were evaluated using the instruments developed by the researcher. The final product being evaluated using the validated instrument developed by researcher based on Creative Product Analysis Matrix (CPAM). The CPAM model defined creative product based on three aspects which are unique, practicality and detailing. The products from all the activities in the design process and the final product were evaluated by the experts. The descriptive statistics that were utilized were frequency, min and standard deviation. The inferential statistics namely t-test, Pearson correlation analysis and regression analysis with a significant level p = 0.01 were utilized. Research outcomes show that there is a significant difference between the treatment group product (M=79.1) and control group product (M=70.5). It also shows that there is a significant correlation between CPAM creative model aspects and the final product designed using mobile and CAD technology integration where r(unique)=0.905, r(practical)=0.857 and r(details)=0.758. The research outcomes also show that analysis activity is the largest contributor in the design process to produce creative product. The contributions from this research are the web mobile that can be accessed at http://www.kajian_senireka.param.mobi/ as the architectural information source and the integration of CAD technology in synthesis and simulation activities during design process.,Phd | - |
